Understanding Your Connection to Community
We created Understanding Love 22 out of our shared desire to live love in action. Individually and as a couple, we have always rejected conformity—but this became even clearer when we began to step further away from imposed constructs, especially around time. We’ve learned that while community may be free in a monetary sense, it requires the priceless investment of your time, presence, and attention. Like any relationship, it asks for ongoing commitment.
We hold that responsibility with care. A community that does not move you toward some form of action may not truly nourish you. In our Understanding Love 22 manifesto and statutes, we outline the ways we commit ourselves to making the world more peaceful—beginning with how we show up for ourselves and one another.
The Lunar Renewal is part of that commitment. It is a personal, inner work journey that invites you to explore who you are, to study yourself, and to cultivate a deeper understanding of your nature. When you truly know yourself, you also understand who you are in community. By aligning with the lunar cycle, the Lunar Renewal offers you the space to realign, reconnect, and return to yourself and ultimately community with a renewed sense of purpose.
The Lunar Renewal is a three-lunar-cycle journey of deep personal exploration and transformation. Over these three months, we will work together—book in hand, lessons at heart—through Oliver’s A.U.R.A.: The Algorithm of Change and the Empower Your Identity Foundational Courses. This is not light reading or casual reflection. This is focused, intentional work that will challenge you, stretch you, and bring you into a clearer relationship with yourself, your time, your energy, and your focus.
Each lunar cycle offers its rhythm for inner work: a beginning, a build, a release, and a return. We will use this natural timing to pace our self-study and community conversations, integrating insights and actions step by step. You will explore who you are at your core, examine your patterns, and learn how to move with more clarity in both your personal life and within the community.
Doing this work alone is powerful—doing it in community is transformative. In our shared space, you’ll be supported, challenged, and inspired by others who are also committed to deep self-understanding. Together, we will witness each other’s growth and hold each other accountable to the changes we seek.
This package is free for those in the Lisbon metropolitan area, in recognition of the unique needs and possibilities in our city and across Portugal. For participants outside Lisbon, the contribution is 44,44 euros (or your local currency equivalent).
We do not want finances to stop anyone from taking part in this process. There will be opportunities to exchange time, skills, or energy in place of monetary payment. Additionally, if you identify as trans, and/or queer BIPOC broadly, we will review your information for a possible non-binding sponsorship.
If you want, I can also create a more concise “program snapshot” version that lists the three lunar cycles, what each focuses on, and exactly what participants receive. That would make the offering feel even more concrete.
